FAQs

Do you provide eye care for the whole family?

Yes. We care for patients at every stage of life with personalized exams, vision correction, and eye-health monitoring.

What makes Vision Care Clinic different from larger optical stores?

We are a local clinic focused on individualized care, long-term relationships, and helping each patient protect their eye health. We also have a combined 80+ years of experience between our opticians!

Do you use advanced technology during eye exams?

Yes. We use diagnostic tools such as Optomap, OCT imaging, and visual field testing to help evaluate eye health thoroughly.

Can you help with glasses and contact lenses?

Yes. We provide glasses, contact lenses, sunglasses, no-line progressives, and specialty eyewear including sports and industrial safety glasses.

Can you help me understand my insurance options?

Yes. Our team can help review your benefits and explain available options before care whenever possible.

How often should I get an eye exam?

We recommend a comprehensive eye exam at least once every one to two years, depending on your age, overall health, and risk factors. Regular exams help detect issues early and maintain optimal eye health.

Will working at a computer hurt my eyes?

There is no research to indicate that working at a computer or watching tv will hurt your eyes. It can be fatiguing, so it’s best to take breaks, look into the distance, and adjust your workstation.

Why does the eye doctor dilate my eyes?

Dilating your eyes provides the doctor a better view of the cornea, retina, and other components so he may be able to find what is causing blurry vision or any other issues you may be having with your sight. At Vision Care Clinic, we use Optomap Image Screening so the doctor can examine the back of the eye without dilation. However, your doctor will determine whether dilation is needed during your exam. For more information regarding Optomap, visit www.optomap.com.

What should I expect during my first visit?

We take time to understand your vision needs, medical history, lifestyle, and eye-health goals so your exam and recommendations are personalized.

What should I bring to an eye exam appointment?

Please bring your current glasses or contact lenses, your medical and vision insurance information, and a list of any medications you are taking. If you have had previous eye exams or relevant medical records, bringing those can be helpful.

What if I have a difficult contact lens prescription?

We work with patients to find comfortable, clear contact lens options and can adjust recommendations based on fit, vision, and lifestyle.

Do you offer care beyond routine eye exams?

Yes. We provide comprehensive eye-health evaluations, glaucoma care, foreign body removal, and pre- and post-operative support for cataract and laser vision procedures.
